There are far too many in the church who “devise mischief [and] give wicked counsel”. They know what the Word of God says concerning walking honestly and circumspectly; but, at the same time, they believe that He doesn’t see us, nor does He hear us and that His Word doesn’t really mean exactly what it says. Consequently, instead of counselling through the Spirit of God, they address things according to the ways of the world; which stand, quite often, in direct opposition to Him. Is it any wonder, then, that He has no option but to administer judgment upon the church? He needs to cleanse His body of those who are leading multitudes down the path to destruction before the time comes when there will be no opportunity to turn back to Him.
