Consider This
All throughout His Word, the Lord tells us that our only hope of being accepted by the Father is by self-sacrifice. In the days before Jesus, the people were required to bring the prescribed sacrifices; yet these were only temporary coverings. And from the days of Jesus until now, our acceptance of Him as our substitute is what the Father requires. The one thing that they all have in common, however, is called sacrifice. True: one aspect of the sacrifice involved the sacrifices themselves. But, just as much involves the sacrifices of ourselves. However, it has to be willingly. It always has, and it always will.
